We sell Yanai-jima (stripe-designed traditional fabric) and a variety of small items such as coin purses, card cases, book covers, etc.
We hold lessons called "Hitohari-yokocho" where you can make your own crafts. In other lessons, you will learn how to weave Yanai-jima textiles. We welcome both beginners and advanced-level students. Please feel free to contact us for details.

We have been a Japanese confectionery maker since the Edo period, for more than 170 years, of the traditional popular jelly-like sweets called "Okina-ame".
This sweet is only available in Yanai and its nostalgic flavour is produced by carefully-selected ingredients after a five-day process carried out by skilled professionals of Japanese sweets. Seasonal-shaped and flavoured sweets are also recommended.

In this workshop, you can experience goldfish-shaped lantern making and create an original one. Through this process, you will be able to feel Mr. Nobuo Kawamura's great love of his hometown, which played an important role in promoting these cute-shaped lanterns all around Yanai.
Visitors can purchase not only lanterns carefully made by professionals but also other souvenirs such as Yanai-jima (stripe-patterned traditional fabric).

We are a stationery shop under the slogan of "to be a pioneer for the local community". We sell various items and crafts such as Kingyo Chochin (goldfish-shaped lanterns) and related goods, postcards of Yanai, T-shirts, and many other original goods. You can buy various sizes of ornamental lanterns displayed under the eaves of houses along the white-walled street.
Very old signboards and banners of Japanese famous stationers are displayed inside the shop, which produce a nostalgic atmosphere. (Parking lot is available for 2 vehicles).

We are a gift shop providing various local products not only from Yanai but also from the entire Yamaguchi Prefecture under the certification of local brand "Kinsai Yanai". We handle a number of locally-brewed sakes (rice wines). Among them, the famous "Dassai", "Gokyo", and "Gangi" are extremely popular.
One of the most popular food products is a local curry called "Jinenjo Curry", which uses unique ingredients such as Jinenjo (Japanese wild yam) and Kanro Joyu (vintage soy sauce). Jinenjo yam grows thanks to a special cultivation method, which was first invented in Yanai. Kanro Joyu(soy sauce) has also been brewed using a unique method for over 200 years.

We are one of the major breweries of Kanro Shoyu(vintage soy sauce), which is a specialty of Yanai, brewed for more than two years. Its mellow and rich taste goes perfectly with Sashimi(sliced raw fish) and it is also a perfect seasoning for all kinds of Japanese dishes. Other popular products are Moromi(fermented mash), Miso(soy bean paste) and whipped ice cream.

We are a producer of Kanro Joyu(vintage soy sauce),a specialty of Yanai, prepared with underground water sourced from the Kotoishi mountain range. We use a multi-brewing method using double the amount of ingredients and brewing time, which makes our Kanro Joyu more tasty and mellow. We also sell a wide variety of products, such as sesame Furikake (dried toppings for rice) and dressings.
One corner of our old Shoyu Gura(soy sauce brewery) is open to the public as a museum so that visitors can learn about the process of soy sauce making and traditional tools as well. The building has been used up until today since the Edo period, for more than a hundred years. (Admission is free).
